There is 263 square miles in the 248 School District. Approximately 2.5 square miles are in Bourbon County and 10 square miles are in Neosho County, with the remainder located in the northwest corner of Crawford County. Schools within the district include the following: R.V. Haderlein Elementary School, Girard Middle School (Grades 6-8), and Girard High School (Grades 9-12).
