Welcome to the Girard Police Department
Whether you live here, work here, or are simply passing through, our commitment is the same: to provide professional, fair, and compassionate law enforcement while working every day to keep our community safe.
We recognize that policing is about more than responding to calls for service. It is about building relationships, solving problems, and earning the trust of the people we serve. Every interaction is an opportunity to make a positive difference, and we are committed to treating every person with dignity, respect, and professionalism.
Our officers provide 24-hour law enforcement services to the City of Girard, responding to emergencies, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic laws, protecting victims, and maintaining public safety. We take pride in being visible, approachable, and engaged members of the community.
In addition to traditional law enforcement responsibilities, the Girard Police Department provides a variety of services that contribute to the quality of life in our community, including:
- Enforcement of Kansas laws and City of Girard ordinances
- Traffic safety and crash investigations
- Animal control enforcement and assistance with stray animals
- Investigation and removal of abandoned or inoperable vehicles
- Child passenger safety education and child safety seat inspections
- Crime prevention initiatives and community outreach
- Assistance to neighboring law enforcement and emergency service agencies
- Support during community events, emergencies, and natural disasters
Our mission extends beyond enforcement. We strive to build partnerships with residents, businesses, schools, and community organizations because we believe the safest communities are built when law enforcement and citizens work together.
We are proud to serve Girard with integrity, accountability, and professionalism, and we remain committed to providing the highest level of public service to everyone who calls our community home.
