The Girard Police Department welcomes you to our on-line departmental information. The goal of our department is to fulfill traditional law enforcement role for the community. We will accomplish this goal through mutual trust in serving and protecting the citizens and visitors of Girard by maintaining community safety and security. The following positions comprise the department: Chief of Police; Detective; School Resource Officer; Patrol Sergeant; and 3-Patrol Officers. Part-time positions include 3-Patrol Officers. |
The Girard Police Department is responsible for codes and ordinances involving Animal Control and Vehicles/Child Safety Seats. The department assists in the capture and control of reported animals, conducts motor vehicle inspections, removal in inoperable vehicles, and verifies proper installation of child safety seats. Additional duties include: Child Passenger Safety Technician; DARE Officer; Range Master; and Crime Prevention Officer.
