The City of Girard offers numerous amenities in the way of parks and recreation including, the Girard Public Golf Course, Youth Activities of all types, and a revitalized Winston Park. The park has received new playground equipment, remodeled shelters, and modernized public pool.

The nine-hole public golf course provides many challenges for the average golfer. Some challenges include bent greens, long fairways, and hazards. The course hosts many tournaments, including the Kansas High School Regional Girls Golf Tournament.

The Girard Recreation Board oversees many youth activities including flag football, baseball, softball, and basketball.
